Helical Piers from

-Determining the Scope Of the project:
Tar Heel Piering Systems can install as few as 1 pier for a small retaining wall and as many as several hundred for a large commercial project. With such a wide spectrum of applications a representative of Tar Heel Piering would need to make a site visit and review plans with the General Contractor to discuss any options and the next steps to take.

-Defining Ultimate and Working Loads:
The working plans will need to be presented to a structural Engineer, either one the General Contractor has a relationship with or one that Tar Heel Piering has worked with that have expertise in the specific application that has been determined. The Engineer will do all of the load calculations and determine the weight loads on all foundation and bearing walls.

 -Preliminary Pier Spacing and Placement:
Based on the load calculations, the Engineer will mark on the working plans the spacing and placement of all Helical Piers. The Engineer will also design the grade beam needed to span the Helical Piers.

-Estimating Job Cost:
Tar Heel Piering will give a written proposal based on the engineers preliminary drawings. All cost will be communicated up front so the budget can be formed by the General Contractor and his clients.

-Installation Process:
Upon acceptance of the proposal, signing a contract, and the builders schedule Tar Heel Piering will order the Helical Piers needed for that specific job. Generally a lead time of 2 weeks will be needed, however Tar Heel Piering can usually accommodate a rush job for a builder. Once the installation begins Tar Heel Piering can usually install 30 to 35 piers a day. Most residential and light commercial applications are a 1 to 3 day process. After all Helical Piers are installed they will be cut and capped at the same height and ready for the foundation crew.

-Job Completion:
Upon final payment of the job, Tar Heel Piering will provide a industry leading "Life of Structure" Warranty, a detailed record of all the Helical Piers installed, and a stamped engineers drawing that will be needed for the foundation Inspection.
